12 years a slave

The movie 12 years a slave won best picture.  But behind all the fame for it,  it has a truely inspiring story. 12 years a slave is based on a true story, it is about a man called Solomon Northup.  Solomon Northup is a African American.  He lived in New York with his wife and two kids.  But when goes to a voilin concert in Washington D.C, he gets kidnapped and taken to New Orleans. He was sold to a plantation owner in the red river area in Louisiana.  He has to work as a slave for 12 years. He made many attemps to get out and reach his family who has no idea where he is.  Athough he got out. He went missing again. Some say he was kidnapped again.  But one thing is for certain he was an insirpring man whos story is finally told.  It makes me pleased that I am living in this time of age.
