Thief 1- We should steal Honda Torneo
Thief 2- That car? Are you serious? That car's ancient!
Thief 1- Don't you remember it has be old
Thief 2- If we use that car then.... you have to buy me a pie
Thief 1- FINE
Thief 2- You open the car and hot wire it I'll keep watch
Thief 1- When did you turn into the boss
Thief 2-  Oh shut up and do what tell you to do
Thief 1- Done Mr bossy pants
Thief 2- Ok lets gets in the car
Thief 1- Lets go back to Tauranga
Thief 2- I can't start the car!
Thief 1- Wow great job you turn on the alarm
Thief 2- ABANDON CAR

My books

This year I have been reading a series called Rangers Apprentice. The stories are set in the early ages of the world where there is no normal technology and has rich kings Queens and princesses. The stories are about a year old boy called Will who is selected to become a ranger.  A ranger is a person who is a master with a bow and arrow and will also sort out anything bad of dangerous that happens in the country. There are ten books and I am on the eighth book.

I am also reading The Book Thief. I'm onto the first few chapters of the book thief but I must say that I am hooked. On the first chapter we are introduced to death, we see the way death kills people. The way he likes different colours of the sky and how he sees the sky changing throughout the day. I'm glad my mum gave me this book for my birthday. By the ratings on this book I can see there is more amazing things to come.

Miss C-"Yes, It's kind of weird though, it doesn't hurt or anything is that normal?"
Doctor-"It shouldn't hurt and you shouldn't get blurry vision. Unfortunately theres no cure you just have to try not rubbing the eye for a few days, your eye will eventually turn normal again in few weeks."
Miss C- "What happens if my eyes feels weird?"
Doctor- "Then come back in again and I will give you some artificial tears to help ease the pain. It is also not contagious so your son and class will not catch your eye problem"

A story with 200 words

Choose one of these to write a 200 word short story which mentions these 3 items somewhere:

Identical twins, a party invitation, and a locked closet.

The invitation

I raced home with my friends invite in one hand, the streets are whizzing by but I make it to my house safely and somehow not getting lost. I continue to run to mum who’s preparing dinner. Puffing and red faced I give her the invite. She just smiles at me and nods.  It’s our way of communicating when the twins are around. They’re eating at the dinner table that’s joint to our kitchen.

You know in movies how the creepy twins look the same, dress the same, and do everything at the exact same time well thats my twins.  Charlie and Alex are my little sisters who are eating at the exactly same time.  They given a curious look to the invite. They then turn there head at the same time and smile.

A shiver comes down my spine. I leave before it comes too creepy but thats my first mistake I forget the invite.  I run to my room to get changed from my school uniform but my closet is locked. “Twins” I mutter then I realise my mistake. How was I so stupid? The invite. I run straight back to the kitchen where I see the twins with the keys to my closet and the invite. They are hovering then over the bin I quickly swoop in like a hawk and save my belongings.
“Not today.” I say angrily

Ball in cylinder

Ball in a cylinder is a experiment that we did in the science lab. There were lots of cool experiments but this one was denfinitly We did this experiment because this week is national primary science week. This is how you do this experiment.

Equipment:
Plastic jar
Marble

Method/Experiment:

1. Place marble inside jar. Hold jar on the side so it is horizontal, cover the opening with your hand and start spinning the marble.

2.Continue to spin the jar while turning it until the marble is on top of the opening.

Why does this this happen?
This happens because when you spin the marble you are creating a force. When you continue to spin the marble the force will still be there.

GeoGuessr

Today we played the GeoGuessr.  Its is a really challenging game that tests if know where in the world google maps took the picture.  You can move your picture around but not forward or back, I find it helps to look around just to see where in the world it might be e.g. There might be a sign that will help you find out a bit about the place. This game is challenging but really fun I highly recommend it. Click here to play this awesome game

Sterotype

Stereotypes are guesses that we make about an entire group based on couple of people in the group.  If we say that "all asians are good at math." We would be stereotyping because not all asians are good at math.  A lot of our stereotyping can be very wrong and some can hurt more than others. I believe that we shouldn't judge people because of stereotypes and that we should accept people are different.

Write up 5 stereotyping statements of your own using these sentence starters:
Real men drink beer.
Females are more gentle than men.
Indian people love cricket.
Asian people love fish.
Maori people love rugby.

What are 2 good points about having stereotypes?
They could be good stereotypes.
They could be true.

What are 2 bad points about having stereotypes?
Judging people by their race.
Bullies use them.
Can be wrong.

The wiki game

Today we played the wiki game.  The wiki game is a game that makes you use the links of Wikipedia.  Your goal is to try and find the key word out of the links on the page that they give you. You also have to try to beat the other people playing. If my goal was Arabic and the page I started on Poland I would have to find a way to get to Arabic . It is easiest to search up in another tab your topic to know what link you could be looking for. Click here to play the wiki game

STAR cards and Clilck cards

At TIS we are now trying out a new system. As of today we will have a red and blue click card. Around the outside of the card is 40 boxes. These boxes show your attendance and attitude to school. Everyday you can get a click in one of the boxes.  Every time you get 40 clicks you can get a wrist band, these wrist bands are the colour of your house. If you get 120 clicks (or go through 3 sheets.) You get a STARS badge. However, if your'e off task or talking your name will get on the board if are still off task you will get a cross you wont get a click.

Another thing that is new is the STARS card. Any teacher in the school can give you a STARS card. You can earn STARS card by doing something special around the school. Once you have your STARS card you write your name on it and put it into your houses container. At each house hui your house teacher will pull out two names. If your name gets pulled out you will win a burger king voucher. At the end of term assemblies a teacher will pull out a name from each house. If your name gets pulled out then you will win a STARS hoodie. At the end of the year your name gets into a draw and if your name gets pulled out you could win a bike.
